HCCEF 24 Hour Fast

Event Date: February 15, 2018 at 7:00 am Event Location: Fast wherever you would like – home, school, work...you choose

February 2018 is “Love Thy Neighbour Month” to support HCDSB Students in Need through the HCCEF Student Guardian Program.

One of the activities for the month will be the “HCCEF 24 Hour Fast” from Thursday February 15 to Friday February 16. You can choose the 24 hour period you wish to “Fast” (i.e. 7am to 7am; or 1pm to 1pm; or 12:27pm to 12:27pm…you pick).

The Season of Lent starts on February 14 – a season for prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Fasting will connect us to our neighbours who are in need – those who are forced to fast by their poverty. Our Baptismal promise is to show Christ’s love to those in need – “Love Thy Neighbour”. Fasting can help us to understand the suffering that our neighbours experience, and lead us in our efforts to alleviate that suffering.

We are inviting members of the Halton community to join the “HCCEF 24 Hour Fast” to help raise much-needed funds for HCDSB Students in Need.

All participants 18 years of age and older can register through the HCCEF 24 Hour Fast page on CanadaHelps.org

Once registered, you would ask friends, family and neighbours to sponsor you or to join your team…the more the merrier. Online and Paper Pledge Forms give you lots of flexibility on how you can get sponsors.

People 12 to 17 years who wish to participate, please contact Marc Clare to register…we’ll need your parent/guardian to sign the waiver first.  clarema@hccef.org or 905-632-6314 x.248
